About How Did We Become an ONA Congregation?
Beginning in early 2010, our congregation went through an ONA process based on the process designed by the United Church of Christ Coalition for LGBT Concerns. We read, listened to psychologists and biblical scholars, discussed, and prayed together to discern whether or not God was calling our congregation to become a welcoming place for all. We collaborated on our Statement of Intentional Welcome. On May 6, 2012, we held a congregational meeting and voted to become an Open and Affirming congregation.
