First Church believes that "God is still speaking" to us and to others
and thus we strive to be an open and welcoming community for
all people to experience the love of God in Jesus Christ.
"First Church will become a vibrant center for progressive Christians
by welcoming all, sustaining each other in community,
and following the way of Jesus, striving to do justice, love kindness,
and walk humbly with God." ~~Vision Statement approved by members at the May 2, 2010 Annual Meeting

September, 2010
Rally Sunday is Sept. 12! Children age 3 and older will begin with their parents in the Meetinghouse, then leave following the children’s sermon. Special activities will get the year started right, including cookie decorating for all.
Registration
Registration for Church School for 2010-11 will take place after worship on September 12 and 19. We are asking every family with children up through 8th grade to fill out a new registration form this year. You may do it on one of those two Sundays, or download one from our website and bring or send it to the church.
Following the children's sermon, typically children ages 3 through grade 8 with their shepherds and teachers will leave the Meetinghouse during the first hymn and go to their classes.

Support Farmington's Food Pantry
The 27th annual FOODSHARE Walk Against Hunger was May 2, 2010. Your Farmington Food Pantry has established a web site and registered team members. The pantry will receive approximately 40% of the money we raise to use for future purchases from FOODSHARE. The more we raise the better we can help serve our community members in need of our services.
It's not too late to make a donation. Please feel free to sponsor one of the already registered walkers for the Farmington Food Pantry by clicking the "Walk Against Hunger" link above.. Please also help us spread the word to family, friends and loved ones of our efforts to support FOODSHARE and the Farmington Food Pantry.
